Alberta – British Columbia Joint Cabinet Meetings
In October 2003, Alberta and British Columbia held the first of what would become a series of annual joint Premiers and Ministers' Meetings. The October 2003 meeting was held in Calgary, Alberta. Alberta and B.C. signed a Protocol of Cooperation that committed both provincial governments to working more closely together to the benefit of the provinces and the country as a whole. This Protocol was renewed for another five years at the October 2008 joint Premiers and Ministers' Meeting held in Prince George, B.C.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Safe and Liveable Communities 
The Governments of British Columbia and Alberta signed an agreement that will see the provinces cooperate to enhance community safety and team up to tackle gang crime and repeat offenders. The agreement includes developing a joint missing person's database and sharing best practices to aid victims of crime. Alberta and British Columbia will also develop a pilot project to act on warrants of serious offenders who are returned to the issuing jurisdiction. The provinces have agreed to step up measures to ensure parents fulfill their maintenance responsibilities to their children following separation or divorce.
Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) on Rural Development 
This MOU will see collaborative approaches taken to improve community-based programs and resources and enhance other rural development initiatives.
Commitment to Partnership 
The Governments of Alberta and British Columbia renewed their five-year commitment to partnership.
