International Financial Institutions

International Financial Institutions (IFIs), such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Asian Development Bank, are formal international lending agencies operating across country boundaries. They are the largest source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries stimulating economic growth and development.

IFIs can play an integral role in the development of international activities for Alberta's private sector. The Alberta government provides Alberta companies with information on IFI development projects to facilitate new export and investment opportunities.

Services include:

• providing Alberta companies with access to information on projects financed by IFIs
• providing market intelligence and key contacts for IFIs
• developing and delivering seminars to assist Alberta companies in expanding their export horizons
